DECISIPH/Handicap International, 2011
This study was conducted strictly within the context of the DECISIPH project with the purpose of finding out more about the situation of people with disabilities in the intervention zones and establishing the areas in which activities needs to be strengthened. As it was carried out at the project’s mid-way stage, its findings may lead to adjustments in the actions underway.
This is the first study of its kind to be conducted in Sierra Leone and was designed to provide us with a better understanding of the conditions of access to services for people with disabilities compared to those for people without disabilities. It therefore contributes towards improving the availability and accessibility of up-to-date baseline disability information on which DPOs in Sierra Leone will be able to draw when
advocating for the rights of people with disabilities.
