CHAIRMAN OF ASSOCIATION OF THE PHYSICALLY DISABLED (APD) LRR PRESENTED BICYCLES TO THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENTS IN LOWER RIVER REGION OF THE GAMBIA
As strives to advocate for and solicit support for Persons With Disabilities, the Chairman of Association Of Physically Disabled herein called, Mr. Lamin I Darboe gather bicycles and intended to present them to the Physically challenged who find it difficult to walk to and from schools. Chairman Darboe according to him said schools are no way near to the community by making the said schools accessible to PWD Students. He said despite the continuous advocacy to the Government, Non Governmental Organisations and individuals, schools remain remote to be easily accessed by PWDS.
According to him, it is in consequence of the foregoing that, one cannot wait until these facilities are or become closer for Persons With Disabilities to be accessed. He said, one needs to have plan B in order to mitigate the rigor of the circumstances. He said he had long been thinking of finding some solutions for PWDS.
Mr. Darboe though did not disclose the source of these bicycles but he said is his contribution toward supporting PWDS.
Gambia Federation Of The Disabled, other DPOS and the rest of Persons With Disabilities expressed their happiness to Mr. Darboe for the wise and magnanimous gesture and urged others to emulate Chairman Lamin I Darboe for the gesture toward Persons With Disabilities.
