GAMBIA FEDERATION OF DISABLED ORGANISED TWO DAYS TRAINING ON LEADERSHIP, FINANCE AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS FOR PWDS.

On Thursday the 28 November 2019 and Friday 29, the United Nations Development Programme funded two days training for Gambia Federation Of Disabled to engage Disabled People’s Organisations and their membership to abrest themselves with Finance Management, Leadership Skills and Project Management Skills. The rational behind this training is that, Leadership skills remains one of the factors and challenges Persons With Disabilities lack in order to lead their members in the right direction. Finance Management and project management skills too remains a challenge for the PWDS in order to sustain finance resources and projects.

At these two days training Exparts Resource Persons such as;
Malick Dem made wonderful and informative presentation about finance management which according to him must be accompanied with standard rules and established practices.
For that of Project Management, an Expart called Modou Touray who Works for Youth Empowerment Project also presented enlightened messages and guidelines about Project Management Skills and told PWDS that, they should be always be cautious to manage and sustain the resources of the project so that if projects face out, they will be able to contain and sustain it.
Pertaining to that of Leadership, same was delved with another Expart called Rod Hawes who doubled as the recent Programme Coodinator. He provided guidelines of Leadership Management Skills such as; the abilityto lead, Patience Skills and listening Skills are significant as prerequisites of Leadership Skills.
Being the first of its kind for DPOS and their entire membership to attend all the three areas highlighted above, Persons With Disabilities were at the end of the training equipped with these skills and even demonstrated their ability to man and run their DPOS in the right direction.
The Chairman of the Federation promised the DPOS and their membership that the Federation will continue to offer DPOS more training in order to equip themselves more skills
