A health study revealed challenges persons with disabilities face in accessing health care services in the Eastern and Savanna regions of Ghana. The passage of the Disability Act 715, 2006 and the 1992 constitution of Ghana and the sustainable development goals ensures that persons with disabilities enjoy their rights and access to services as everyone.

The findings indicated that persons with disabilities rely on friends, families for support in accessing information ; hence non availability of sign language interpreters hinders their participation in programs and activities carried out by the health care systems.
It was recommended that Ghana health services engages organizations of persons with disabilities in their programs to understand their unique needs and influencing government bodies to provide training for health professionals, improvement on the level at which sharing of information on health care and other related services.

This study is an effort for the generating awareness among stakeholders in provision of equal information accessibility, such as the government, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and Library and Information Services, professionals not only in Ghana but also in other African countries experiencing similar conditions of equality issues in information services.
