MANCHESTER GAMBIA SUPPORT Network EFFECTED CASH TRANSFERS TO PERSONS WITH DISSABILITIES

On Saturday April 25th 2020, a cheritable Organisation formed by Gambians at home and abroad initiated the means of transferring a cash amount of D30,000 (Thirty Thousand Dalasis to 20 (Twenty Persons With Disabilities through the Gambia Federation of Disabled which is the umbrella body representing the Disabled population in the Gambia.

Each Persons With Disabilities were presented D1500 Dalasis. The intention of Manchester Gambia Support Network according to its president, Mr. Kemo Ceesay is to ensure that Persons With Disabilities use the cash to buy things of their preference or choice.. According to the president, since the world over is in a dire situation wherein people including Persons With Disabilities face difficulties in terms of food to eat and even lack of cash.
The President of Gambia Federation Of Disabled, Magistrate Muhammed Krubally thanked the Cheritable Organisation and further prefaced that, although The Federation has received so far a lot of sanitary items and small amount of food items, the donation of The Cheritable Organisation by means of Cash Transfer is yet, the first of its kind to PWDS in order to survive or contain Covid19 Pandemic. The chairman wish the said cheritable Organisation more success to gather resources in order to extend more hands to PWDS in the crusade to fight against Covid 19 Pandemic.
The Federation Of the Disabled in the Gambia continues to represent an estimated number of over 300000 (Three Hundred Thousand Persons With Disabilities out of which 120000 (One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Persons With Disabilities are seriously disabled, including Physically challenged, Visually Impairment, Heard of Hearing, Albinism, Mental retardation, Learning Difficulties, Autism, Elderly etc.
