TOGO / UNDP: 82% OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ARE UNEMPLOYED.

As results of a study carried out in Togo by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the rate of unemployed persons with disabilities is estimated at 82% among them 6.5% are unemployed, 22.8% are underemployed and 2/3 of young people with disabilities are out of school.

To find solution to this inequality (UNDP) conducted the diagnostic study whose purpose is to understand why people with disabilities can not integrate into the labor market.
According to this study, several factors hinder the emancipation of disabled people in Togo. "They have a limited scope and we must try to put in place all means that should train people with disabilities and give them employable skills," according to Mr. Vincent AGBOVI Assistant Professor at the University of Lome.
It should be noted that in Togo, there are approximately 900,000 disabled people.
