The Voting Rights of People with Disabilities at the Heart of Radio Broadcasts in Mali!

As part of the implementation of the convention on the rights of people with disabilities, the Malian Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities (FEMAPH) and National Democratic Institute (NDI) mobilized people with disabilities, their families and their communities to go vote on April 19, 2020 throughout the territory.

To promote better participation of people with disabilities in political and public life through credible information on the rights relating to voting in favor of this layer, this is at once the quintessence of radio programs organized by the Regional and Local Federations of people with disabilities throughout the territory on April 16 and 17, 2020.
Here is the message:
We, the disabled, must participate in the electoral process.
Voting is a civic act, it is a duty and a right for every citizen.
During this electoral period, we invite all people with disabilities to go and vote, because voting is a pillar of democracy.
The choice of MPs in my riding concerns me!
Like all the others, people with disabilities must enjoy their civic duties and rights.
I am voting to elect a member close to people with disabilities.
I vote for the member who is committed to promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
I am voting for a member of Parliament who pledges to monitor government action and is aware of disability.
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities adopted in December 2006 by the United Nations and ratified in April 2008 by Mali, emphasizes the participation of persons with disabilities in the public and political life of any nation in its article 29.
Also, we invite ourselves to respect barrier gestures in the context of CORONA VIRUS disease at any place and at any time.
