GUINEA CONAKRY / Wakilare: the Guinean initiative that turns disabled beggars into entrepreneurs

The association offers training in these main areas: literacy, shoemaking, sewing, entrepreneurship and marketing of products made by themselves

Products made by disabled people are sold in shops and on the internet. For example, for the manufacture of shoes, employees make around 30 pairs of shoes which are sold for around 4 euros. The company also makes other products such as bags and traditional art objects. This activity allows Wakilare to have an income and to pay its employees.
Bernard Tinkiano, himself a disabled person, was fortunate to receive training in shoemaking. Through this project, it now aims to reintegrate disabled people in a very precarious situation.
The company has already received crowdfunding. However, it is still a start-up and needs external support for the diversification of its production and the visibility that will allow it to be profitable on the local and international market.
