Persons with Disabilities in Liberia want budgetary allotment

Persons with Disabilities in Liberia is calling on the government of Liberia to allocate budgetary allotment for special education and for special schools in the country.

Persons with disabilities in Liberia is calling on its government to allocate a money in the 2019 / 2020 draft national budget for special education and for special schools. Speaking at the National Legislature on Thursday, August 30, 2019, the Founder & Executive Director of Inclusive Development Initiative (IDI) who is also National Secretary of the National Union of Organizations of the Disabled (NUOD), Alonzo Dorian Dixon brough to attention of some law - makers serious issues in the educational sector that continually excluding and affecting Persons with Disabilities educational needs and it is making them to be left behind and also making them not to be on an equal path with other citizens without disabilities.

Alonzo Dorian Dixon also said persons with disabilities in Liberia have noticed in the draft national budget present to the national legislature for 2019 – 2020 that their is no budgetary allotment for the Division of Inclusive and Special for Special Education and for Special Schools.

He also used that time to call on the legislators to please allot funds for persons with disabilities education in the draft national budget.
