TURKISH INTERNATIONAL COORDINATION AND COOPERATION AGENCY SUPPORTED PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

On Sunday 17 May 2020, Turkish International Coordination Agency (TICA) submitted food items to Kanifing Municipal Council as a third party to be delivered to Gambia Federation Of The Disabled on behalf of Persons With Disabilities for support to contain Covid-19. The Representative of TICA) said it is part of their cooperate social responsibilities to ensuring inclusion with no exception of Persons With Disabilities. He said since the office of the federation is within the jurisdiction of the municipality, they considered it fitting to involve them to be on a touch base with the federation.

The representative of the municipality called Mr. Lamin Sanyang said, the municipanl council always thinks of including PWDS to be part of equitable distribution of her resources. He evidenced this established fact that, that is why the Mayor of the Municipal Council wisely nominated Person With Disability as Councilor of the council, being the first of its kind in The Gambia and in the history of the council. In light of the foregoing circumstance, he said the delivery of such food item for supporting Persons With Disabilities is indeed a plausible idea especially in this strict and difficult moments.
Few of the Board Members of the Federation, such as, Chairman, Muhammed Krubally, Executive Director, Modou AF Bahoum, Treasurer, Adama Sarr and First Vice Chairman, Ejatou Jallow represented the federation to receive the items which include 20 bags of rice, 5 kg of sugar,, and 20 Galons of Oil.
At the presentation Board Members I have mentioned above expressed appreciation of such gesture from TICA) and of course called on all stakeholders to emulate TICA) for the magnanimous gesture. Board Members promised that the most vulnerable will be the soul beneficiaries of the items.
